GHS Expansion Plan

Meeting the Needs of Our Community
The Granville Health System (GHS) Expansion Plan is GHS’s response to the present and future health care needs of our community. The plan is an ambitious 32,000-square-foot expansion and renovation project—the largest in the health system’s history. Through this expansion plan, we are assuring the community that Granville Health System will continue to deliver the highest quality care and customer service to our patients where they work and live.

The GHS Expansion Plan supports the health system’s mission during a critical time. In addition to keeping pace with advances in health care technology and national patient safety requirements, we face major local challenges. Our community has experienced a dramatically expanding and maturing population—and with it, an increase in the need for health care services. In addition, GHS has experienced an ever-pressing rise in the hospital’s annual admissions and Emergency Department visits.

About the GHS Expansion Plan
The GHS Expansion Plan is currently in Phase I, the first part of a four-phase master facility plan that will span up to 20 years. The GHS Expansion Plan is directly tied to the organization’s strategic plan, an initiative that has been driven and supported by the GHS Board of Trustees and has been in place for a number of years.

Plans for expansion are based on a strategic, long-range focus on growth and quality. GHS has positioned itself with good financial stewardship by providing a strong platform for growth, paying down debt, and securing capital.

The master facility plan is supported by the Master Facility Plan Committee, which is made up of board members, medical staff, senior administration, and management staff. Moving forward, GHS will look toward the possible addition of a bed tower, located over the new Emergency Department, to better accommodate the growing needs of patients.
