About the Expansion Plan

What is the GHS Expansion Plan?

The GHS Expansion Plan is Granville Health System’s (GHS) response to the present and future health care needs of our expanding and aging community. The Plan is an ambitious 32,000 square foot expansion and renovation project – the largest in the health system’s history – that will allow us to continue to keep pace with advances in health care technology and with national patient safety requirements.

About the GHS Expansion Plan:

  • The GHS Expansion Plan is directly tied to the organization’s strategic plan, an initiative that has been driven and supported by the GHS Board of Trustees and has been in place for a number of years.
  • Phase one is part of a 4-phase master facility plan that will span up to 20 years.
  • Expansion is based on a strategic, long-range focus on growth and quality.
  • GHS has positioned itself with good financial stewardship--providing a strong platform for growth; paying down debt and securing capital.
  • The master facility plan is supported by the Master Facility Plan Committee, made up of board members, medical staff, senior administration and management staff.

Phase one of the GHS Expansion Plan includes:

  • 25,145 square feet of new space
  • 6,720 square feet of renovated space
  • A new Emergency Department that will grow from 3,135 to 18,000 square feet
  • New Energy Plant
  • Expand Surgical Services
  • A larger Laboratory Department, expanded by 1,100 square feet
  • A new, larger lobby and admissions area that will make visiting Granville Medical Center more comfortable and convenient for patients and visitors alike
  • Additional patient and visitor parking
  • More efficient and usable roadway and entrance system
Through the GHS Expansion Plan, we are assuring that we deliver the highest quality care and customer service to your employees and the communities where they work and live.
